Are you a girls' girl, a gal-pal, a woman in a leadership, management or supervisory role? Are you a member of the community that would like to engage with other women to explore barriers, solutions and support for women in our neighbourhoods and workplaces? Block off your calendars now and email to register for Business & Professional Women of H&PE's 'Girls Talk' from 12:30-5:00 on Wednesday, November 27th at Hillier Hall (in Hillier PEC - limited seating available). Our keynote speaker from Alternatives For Women will help us to understand the language for and the signs of Domestic Violence (DV), as well as the right way to respond to someone who discloses or approach someone you think may be experiencing DV. We will also be workshopping the overlap between domestic violence and the housing crisis within the framework of living in a rural area. We'd like to thank Enjd from My Table for sponsoring and catering the delicious snacks, Anne at Assist in Time Small Business Support for sponsoring workshop supplies and Scope Consulting Firm (of Consecon) for sponsoring to bring in internationally-renowned Canadian Jazz artist Rita Di Ghent who will be performing and guiding us through with her story telling and music. Please note that a portion of proceeds from ticket sales will go to BPW H&PE's Charity of Choice: Alternatives for Women. Email questions to [email protected]
