About this Event
In partnership with RAM Consulting, a world-class engineering firm based out of Vancouver, The C.O.D.E. Initiative is hosting a one-day event to introduce self-identifying girls in grades 5, 6, and 7 to the vast world of engineering!
Students will be guided by an engineering mentor to design and execute three fun and engaging projects from the disciplines of civil engineering, mechanical/electrial engineering, and coding/robotics.
This event aims to empower young girls to explore the world of engineering through activities that require collaboration and critical thinking in a welcoming learning environment and under the guidance of accomplished women in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
<h4>This workshop is BY DONATION.</h4>When: June 8, 2024, 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Where: RAM Consulting (700-409 Granville St. Vancouver, BC V6C 1T2)
Who can come: This workshop is geared toward those in grades 5, 6, and 7 who identify as girls*
What you will learn: participate in activities related to civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and coding/robotics
Number of sessions: 1 day only
Prerequisites: None! This class welcomes those who are beginners. Previous tech knowledge is not required.
Materials needed: Please bring a water bottle. Snacks and lunch will be provided. If your student has allergies or prefers to bring their own snack or lunch, they are welcome to do so.
*Priority registration will be given to students who identify as neurodivergent, newcomers to Canada, Black, People of Colour, Indigenous, and/or members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
