The North Texas Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) will be hosting its annual Girls in Aviation Day - a FREE event!
About this Event

WHAT IS IT?

The North Texas Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) will be hosting its annual Girls in Aviation Day, a FREE program for girls ages 8 to 18 designed to introduce them to the possibilities available in a career in aviation.

WHEN IS IT?

September 24th, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m

WHERE IS IT?

The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) National Aviation Education Center at Dallas Executive Airport.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to women in various fields of aviation and aerospace, including pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, airport managers, business owners, and more. Exciting hands-on activities, such as flight simulators, build-a-helicopter, aviation phonetics, and more will also be available. Attendees will also be able to walk around and interact with a variety of aircraft.

The VIP Program for high school girls will feature advanced activities, mentoring, and hands-on, real-world experience - including a new station added this year!

Guest Speaker: Stephanie Chung — the first African American to serve as president of a private aviation company in the US — will bring the event to a close!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. Is there anything included with my ticket? Limited quantities of Girls in Aviation Day backpacks, Aviation for Girls magazines, and other materials will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. Do I need to get a ticket for myself and my child? All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their stay at the CAF NAEC. Please register all children AND adults in your party with the proper tickets.
  3. Are there souvenirs available for purchase? Girls in Aviation Day T-shirts and other merchandise will be available for purchase on the day of the event. If you attended our event in years past, we encourage you to wear your Girls in Aviation Day T-shirt!
  4. Is food available? Lunch is available through advance purchase when acquiring your free admission tickets.
  5. Can I bring my own food? Yes, but we ask that you eat it only in designated areas to protect the exhibits.
  6. Is parking available on-site? Free parking is available but will be limited so please plan to carpool as possible.

  1. Please bring a digital copy of all EventBrite tickets with you.
  2. Even though this event is free, if you cannot attend, please return your EventBrite tickets to allow other patrons to attend this great event.
