Girls 4 Science is pleased to honor Linda McGill-Boasmond with its Women in STEM Award on Wednesday October 9, 2024.
Linda McGill Boasmond is owner and president of Chicago-based Cedar Concepts Corporation. Cedar Concepts processes raw materials for use in a wide variety of personal-care, household, industrial, and agricultural products marketed under many brand names familiar to both consumers and businesses. Her customers include Proctor & Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, Clorox, Citgo Petroleum and Boeing. She runs the country’s first and only African American, woman-owned chemical manufacturing plants. In 2016 Cedar completed construction of the first ground-up chemical manufacturing facility within the City of Chicago in over fifty(50) years.
The Women in STEM event will be held at the beautiful Hilton Contemporary in Bridgeport’s Morgan
Arts Complex. The evening will feature a reception, Student Showcase where Girls 4
Science participants present their experiments or projects from the past year, and the
presentation of the 2024 Women in STEM award.
