Albany, WA and surrounding areas - Australia’s favourite parenting author and former Albany local, Maggie Dent, is returning on Saturday, 9th May to talk about raising young girls in our modernworld, so they can feel “healthy, happy and heard”.
Join Maggie for her 'Girlhood' event designed for parents and educators of girls age birth-12.
In this popular live event based on her book Girlhood, Maggie shows us how to help our girls build an emotional and psychological base for life.
Maggie will cover:
- social norms around girls and helping your girls develop their own sense of identify
- the influence of temperament
- understanding girls’ emotional world
- navigating friendships
- sexualisation, body image and health self-esteem
- nurturing her spirit.. and more.
This will be both a deeply practical guide to raising and educating girls age birth-12 (and the content is definitely relevant to raising girls a few years beyond that too), as well as a celebration and reflection on the state of being female, which women of all ages will relate to.
Tickets: $40
Date: Saturday 9th May
Time: 10am-12pm (doors open at 9.15am) local time.
*Maggie looks forward to seeing you there. Her book stand will also be open before and after the event.
