About this Event

The Girl Talk Incorporated 8-week empowerment program provides an environment where girls can talk freely about issues that relate to their everyday world. Girl Talk Incorporated will offer tools and resources to help empower girls to become their best self, and be successful in their personal and future professional lives. Girl Talk Inc. provides a safe, fun, and judgement free atmosphere.

Girl Talk 7 week curriculum: Self-Acceptance & Positive Identity, Managing Emotions During Conflict, Presenting Yourself with Confidence, Community Service activity, Healthy Habits & Body Care, Money Mindset & Budgeting Basics, Life Skills for Independence, Graduation

This 8-week Girl Talk empowerment program is designed to equip young women with life skills that promote confidence, self awareness, and self-respect in both personal and professional settings. Through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and real-world applications, participants will learn the fundamentals of Understanding self-worth and embracing uniqueness, Identifying triggers, calming techniques, and responding instead of reacting, Communication, posture, appearance, and digital presence that reflects your brand, Hygiene, nutrition basics, physical activity, and self-care routines, Wants vs. needs, simple budgeting, and building healthy money habits, and Wants vs. needs, simple budgeting, and building healthy money habits.

Graduation Ceremony takes place on the 8th Saturday, same time same place.

Participants: Girls ages 10-18 years old. Girls will be separated according to topic conversation if need be.

Girl Talk Inc program dates: Every Saturday starting May 2nd - June 27th, NO SESSION ON MAY 30TH DUE TO MEMORIAL DAY (graduation on June 27th)

Girl Talk Incorporated 8-week program fee: $25.00, covers lunch and program supplies for 8 weeks.

VERY IMPORTANT: PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO COMPLETE 6 OUT OF THE 7 SESSIONS (8TH CLASS IS GRADUATION) TO RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION AND A GIRL TALK GIFT BAG. PARTICIPANTS ALSO HAVE TO COMPLETE THE COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITY, NO EXCEPTIONS!

VERY IMPORTANT: There is a NO CELL PHONE rule during the 8-week empowerment program. We have found that girls can be inattentive when they have access to their cell phones. So, we have a cell phone cubby that the girls will have to deposit their phones into, NO EXCEPTIONS. Once class is over, their phones will be returned. APPEARANCE - NO bonnets or pajamas are allowed to be worn.

Additionally, all parents must fill out a parental consent form for participating girls. Once registration is secured, you will receive a parental consent form to be filled out in its entirety. Please add on the form if your child has any food allergies. ALL PARENTAL CONSENT FORMS MUST BE FILLED OUT IN ITS ENTIRETY AND TURNED IN BY PROGRAM START DATE. IF PARENTAL CONSENT FORM IS NOT RECEIVED BY START DATE REGARDLESS IF REGISTRATION FEE IS PAID, THEY MAY NOT ATTEND.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Minimum age requirement for Girl Talk participants is 10 years old, but if your child will turn 10 within 3 months of the program starting, then an exception will be made.
