Spring to offer a Book Artist Badge Day in our studio!
Girl Scouts will learn the history and parts of a book, along with the tools, materials, and techniques used by bookbinders, as Cadettes earn their Book Artist Badge at the KBAC Studios.
All materials are included*
Included in Girl Registration Cost:
* 3 hours of hands-on programming with Kalamazoo Book Arts Center (KBAC)
* A lesson on the history of books and bookbinding techniques
* Practice bookbinding skills with projects that include a pocket-fold journal, an accordion book, and a diamond fold book made from recycled materials.
* Cadettes will earn their Book Artist Badge, Seniors and Ambassadors will earn a fun patch.
* The chance to see KBAC's Illustrated Accordion Book exhibition, which provides a unique, inspirational look at the interpretations of the accordion book form by artists around the world!
*We will have a variety of materials on hand, but participants are encouraged to bring materials that are interesting to them, that are thin enough to be folded for their recycled materials project.
**The interior contents of the book projects will be completed at home.
