GIRL JAM was my dream, where women artists were celebrated and appreciated, now it’s REAL!! The first Wednesday of each month amazingly talented women get together to share their music. After getting her start playing for change in the subways and streets of Cambridge, MA, Jennifer Tefft met guitarist John Parrillo many years ago and they began writing and playing together as a duo. Following several years playing the circuit in Boston and Cambridge, they released their first album “Dig This Thing” along with bass player Jeff St. Pierre and drummer Phil Antoniades. They soon hit the road, playing shows along the Eastern seaboard and the Midwest. Since then, Jennifer has gone on to release four more albums with her band, Jennifer Tefft & The Strange on her self-owned label Gypsy Spin Music.
Jennifer has shared the stage with a diverse range of artists, from Aerosmith, Warrant & Quiet Riot, Sarah McLachlan at the legendary Lilith Fair, Missing Persons, Grant Hart, The Sheila Divine, and many more at a variety of renowned venues, festivals and events across the country.
When she’s not performing with the band or doing select solo shows, Jennifer spends her time writing and recording new music, hanging out with her family, snowboarding and opening and closing the door every five minutes for her 3 dogs just outside of Boston, Massachusetts.
Josephine With A Cause is an international, New England based Soulful Rock Singer-Songwriter-Artist. Her music and art focus around her socially conscious lyrics against injustices such as poverty, abuse, hate, racism, war... Delivered with an uplifting sweetness, a positive energy and a heartfelt soulfulness. Josephine is a Rebel with a cause.
A Sonic Bomb, (Also the name of her band and one of her biggest hit singles) Josephine has a big warm voice and a big heart to match. Seeking to empower, uplift, engage and inspire joy and change.
Josephine wrote the official victory song of the NE Revolution soccer team which she performed in Gillette Stadium twice.-Josephine has recorded backing vocals for Dropkick Murphys on several of their albums. Josephine has opened for some great acts such as Angelo Moore/Fishbone, Penelope Houston/The Avengers, MTVs Green Jello, Tree, Sasquash and the Sickabilly and many more.
The Newburyport Brewery is an all ages, kid and dog friendly environment. You can bring your own dinner or have it delivered. The beer bar staff is the best!
