About this Event
Saturday, February 7, 2026, come to the Washington Historical Museum for a very Gilded Frocktails.
The theme is Gilded - so please be whatever gilded means to you. Is it the Gilded Age? Are you a gilded lily, Shakespearean tongue in cheek? Perhaps you have a bedazzler or the skills (madness) to sew sequins? Maybe something sleek and modern with a refined gold cuff? However you choose to be gilded, it will be correct. There's no minimum skill requirement. We are there to have fun and delight in sewing.
We start at 4 pm.
Stop by the coat check and as you drop off your coat, get your nametag. We gain entry to the Gilded Age Exhibit and marvel at the beauty. We chat, meet old and new friends, take selfies and compliment each other.
By 5 pm, the museum closes to the public and we head upstairs for a drink and mingle.
By 6 pm, a FULL dinner buffet is put out for us including vegan and gluten free options.
That's right. Your choice of tofu or chicken on jasmine rice and all the toppings. Dessert is a coconut milk panna cotta. All delicious and something for everyone's dietary needs.
By 7 pm, Strut your stuff as your outfit is announced and we all clap for your sewing talents during the fashion walk.
Head back downstairs to make sure you got your photobooth shots and dance to the live DJ and until 8 pm. Early enough to hit one of the local hotspots afterwards if you're staying in town (the Murano gave us a 15% off discount link here) or head back home giddy and sewcialized.
