About this Event
The Gilberto Classico is a Memorial Beach Volleyball tournament held in memory and in honor of Gilberto Fierro who died of cancer in June 1995. He was an amazing father, a great person and a positive contributor to society. He had a passion for life, the game of volleyball and the southern California lifestyle. He always urged his two sons Vince & Dylan to be grateful for their good fortune and to give back to those in need. After his passing in 1995, Vince and his friends decided that the best way to celebrate his life was to hold a volleyball tournament at Gilbert's home court in Venice where he loved to play and raise money for a local charity. All net proceeds will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.
