Join us in Brighton and explore vibrant Japanese crafts scene curated by two persimmons.
two persimmons is really excited to have a chance to showcase our otherwise online-only items in person, and to meet wonderful people. Our focus is on handmade functional / decorative home items and artworks with affordable price.
If you will be anywhere near the south of London, visit Brighton and find unique Japanese gifts that are hard to come by in the UK.
From elegant ceramics and beautiful stationary to intricate fibre ornaments and finest incenses, there's something for everyone. Price ranges from £8 (stationary and small ornaments) toward several hunderd (artoworks).
What you will find:
Artworks and prints by Sugimoto Sanae, Ajiro Kosuke
One-off studio ceramic pieces by Ohara Koichi, Takemura Yoshinori, Okano Ricca, Peggy Poppleton, Haga Ryuichi, Chakabuki.
Wooden items by Uda Masashi
Textile by Sarah Jane Holt
Japanese and British basketry - rice straw, willow, and Akebia vine.
Plus, many other Japanese home items/objects all beautiful and perfect as festive gifts. Examples are: brooms & brushes, scissors, handmade Washi paper, Kokeshi dolls, cards & calendars, incense, candles, green tea, kitchen tools.
About the venue:
Bond St. is in very central location. In the middle of popular North Laine and a stone's throw from the Royal Pavillion.
The venue is on the 2nd floor of building. No lift is available. Unfortunately not accessible by wheelchair. You will walk through the ground floor shop Taylor's Tobacconists.
