About this Event
Ages 14 to 17 requires a parent or guardian present during the class. Looking for that perfect, one-of-a-kind gift? Why not give the “Gift of Experience”? Our classes and workshops are the perfect “unique” alternative to a material gift or “stuff” for any occasion! This class will take you through the process of making your own knife. You’ll learn how to make wooden scales and apply them to a knife hardware kit. We’ll also cover sawing, sanding, and finishing techniques. By the time the class has completed, you’ll have your very own pocket knife to take home or give as a gift. All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases. Each student should carefully consider their health and reaction to products around them when signing up for this or any of the Rockler woodworking classes. Considering a 1-on-1 private Instruction? Email us separately at [email protected] to let us know what you’re interested in learning, and we’ll tailor a class to your exact needs. Learn exactly what you need, at your own pace: that’s what 1-on-1 private instruction is all about. (Not everything can be taught in a single class session; we’ll discuss this with you before the class.) Contact store for more details.
