About this Event

Meet and talk with an experienced, renowned and local games developer Mark Backler from Sketchbook Games at Ipswich Library on Tuesday 9th November at 5.30-6pm to give a talk about how to get in to gaming, his experiences and the work Game Anglia does. This will take place directly after a live game demo of Sketchbook Games’ new title Lost Words: Beyond the Page.

Mark Backler is a local games developer having worked for Sony, Lionhead and EA on games such as Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Fable 2. He is the co-founder of Game Anglia and Sketchbook games who launched their first game Lost Words earlier this year on the Switch.

Who are Game Anglia/Sketchbook Games?

Game Anglia is not-for-profit Community Interest Company that helps the young people and independent game developers in the East of England get the connections, skills and experience needed to succeed in the UK-wide and international game development industry.

Sketchbook Games released their debut game Lost Words in April 2021, a story telling puzzle game with the unique game play mixture of being in a fantasy story and the journal that you are using to create it.

This event is free to attend, but any donations will support our work to nurture children’s literacy, support vulnerable people and promote wellbeing across Suffolk.

This event is part of International Games Week.
