Speaker: Dr Khalid Khan
Synopsis: The evening will cover in detail the requirements for professional registration, mainly concentrating on CEng and IEng. Ideas on how to compile and produce the ‘evidence of competence’, focusing on the need for all to keep records. There will be a panel of engineers who have recently applied for /achieved CEng & IEng status to share their first-hand experiences and an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.
Bio: Dr. Khalid Khan has earned his PhD in Control Systems from the University of Leicester. He is strong proponent of System Thinking and leverages his expertise to implement Systems Engineering approach for product development. He has over 20 years of experience in leading the control system design and implementation using Model Based Design (MBD) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches. He is a co-inventor of a patent on Aero Engine Fuel Control System.
DR Khan has gained this experience from Automotive, Aerospace and Transportation sector. He is a Chartered Engineer, member of the IET and currently, working as Senior Systems Engineering Manager for GE Vernova. He is also a Six Sigma Green Belt.
He is a regular volunteer for the IET. Currently, he is volunteering as a Mentor, Professional Registration Advisor (PRA), Professional Registration Assessor and Professional Registration Interviewer. He also serves as Competency and End-point Assessor for Level 6 & 7 Apprentices via Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS).
