About this Event
So you have a sewing machine… now what? This beginner-friendly workshop helps participants build confidence using their sewing machine as a practical tool. We’ll cover how to thread a machine, what common stitch settings actually do, how to handle different fabrics, and how to avoid (or fix) the most common beginner problems. Participants will leave with practical knowledge they can use immediately for mending, hemming, and everyday projects.
No prior sewing experience needed!
Please bring:
- Your sewing machine
- Machine manual (printed or digital) if you have it
- A spool of all-purpose polyester thread
- 1-2 Bobbins that fit your machine
- A universal needle (size 80/12 or 90/14)
If you have trouble obtaining any of these ahead of the class, please reach out to the tool library. The tool library also has limited sewing machines that could be used for class, if you do not have your own.
