Shellie will share practical tips on food styling, lighting, and composition to help you capture irresistible, scroll-stopping images. You’ll also get hands-on time shooting your own images throughout the session.
With Tamron’s exclusive touch-and-try experience, attendees will have the opportunity to borrow professional Tamron lenses during the workshop, the perfect chance to test premium glass in a real shooting environment.

This 3-hour immersive workshop will introduce you to the basics of food photography, guided by two creative professionals. Shellie Froidevaux and her husband Ewen Bell will begin with a discussion on techniques and lighting before walking you through hands-on sessions to capture, style, process and print your own food photos. Participants will gain real-world skills they can apply to their commercial work, and learn simple lighting setups to achieve great results every time.
This workshop is open to anyone who wants to start their journey in food photography, regardless of existing skill level. If you run a cafe, have a food blog, love to cook, have an interest in still-life photography, or are thinking about a side-hustle... then this workshop will prove invaluable for you. Professional results are achievable with any camera system, including full-frame, APS-C and MFT.
Shellie Froidevaux (Iron Chef Shellie) is one of Melbourne's most talented and genuine food photographers. Her professional skills include recipe development, food styling and lifestyle photography for hotels, resorts and wineries. Her co-leader for this workshop is editorial photographer Ewen Bell, who specialises in travel photography across The Himalayas and the Arctic.
