About this Event
Explore nature this spring and put your smartphone to work for science! Join us for a free 1-hour seminar on participating in the City Nature Challenge - a four-day global competition to observe and document wildlife in our cities.
Learn how to use your photography skills to contribute to real scientific research right here in the Lehigh Valley. We'll cover:
- What the City Nature Challenge is and why it matters
- How to use the free iNaturalist app to document wildlife
- Photography tips for capturing plants, insects, birds, and other organisms
- Where to find nature in our area (yes, even in urban spaces!)
- How your photos help scientists understand local ecosystems
No science background needed – just bring your curiosity and your camera or smartphone. Whether you're an experienced photographer or just getting started, you'll leave ready to explore the outdoors and make observations that count.
All ages and skill levels welcome. Get outside, snap some photos, and help put the Lehigh Valley on the map for biodiversity!
