About this Event
"Get Me Rewrite!" is what reporters used to say when they called in to the office to report breaking news. No first draft is perfect, and experienced writers know that the magic is in the editing. So let's learn to rewrite! In this two session workshop, Press Enterprise newspaper veteran Dan Bernstein will guide attendees through the process of editing their compositions.
Dan Bernstein has over 40 years experience as a professional writer. He has graciously offered to share his writing wisdom with us at Typewriter Muse!
Before the workshop: attendees will be asked to compose a brief piece of writing -- don't worry if it's not perfect. It shouldn't be! Let this piece of writing be a humble first draft, 200 to 250 words. It will be due no later than March 11th. Upon purchase of your workshop ticket, you will be receiving an email on where to send said written work. (In typical workshop fashion, please expect that your writing may be shared with everyone.)
First session (Held on March 14, 2 pm): Attendess will recieve comments on their work and discuss these with the group.
Second session (Held on March 21, 2 pm): The group will focus on composing a new piece once more and rewriting it in session. After, we will take time to dissect and discuss the experience of editing.
Our vintage typewriters will be available to use during this exciting workshop!
