Step into a world of mysticism and poetry at Get Lit: Verses & Visions. Immerse yourself in the art of the unknown as we blend the intuitive power of tarot with the evocative beauty of spoken word.

• Share an original piece of poetry or song during our open mic. Don’t have anything to share? We’ll have pieces from notable American poets and songwriters that you can select.

• Get a tarot reading from special guest Janet M. Blackwell. (Pay-what-you-can.)
• Create your own paper fortune teller inspired by the words of great American poets.
• Enjoy beer, wine, and the night’s specialty cocktail, the Mind’s Eye—a fresh twist on a French 75! Non-alcoholic options are also available.

Get Lit is your way to enjoy evenings in the Loop. Meet friends and fellow book nerds for an early evening treat. Each month, the AWM serves drinks, games, special experiences, and fun activities to get you lit! Funds raised at this event go towards the AWM’s Write In Youth Education Program, which serves middle and high school students from under-resourced schools. .

Buy your tickets today! A limited number of tickets are available at the door. AWM members, use the access code emailed to you to reveal the member ticket price. Tickets include admission to the museum and drink tickets for two complimentary beverages. Additional drink tickets are available for purchase. Guests must be 21+ to attend Get Lit and show a valid ID at the door.
