About this Event
This event is for you if you are setting up, running or growing a small community or voluntary group in Birmingham and you have an idea or a challenge you'd like to talk over with someone who has lots of experience of doing something similar. It’s taking place at Edgbaston Community Centre on Thursday 9th May from 2.00-3.30pm.
It’s being run by Birmingham Community Matters.
At this session you can talk to a BCM helper and:
- Work through a question, idea or challenge relating to your group
- Come up with some simple next steps to take
- Meet other people who are making things happen in your area of Birmingham.
Popular topics people have talked to us about before:
- Structures (choosing a structure - what sort of group to set up)
- Governance (recruiting trustees, good practice in running a group or charity)
- Fundraising (finding funders, tips on writing applications, costing bids)
- Promotion (reaching more people, including volunteers).

How to register
Register using Eventbrite - we’ll ask you a few simple questions about your community group/project/idea so we know how best to support you on the day.
