DJ STEVE GRINSTER
Top Notch Vinyl Selector Steve Grinster started DJing in local clubs at 16 years old with a passion for Rock n Roll.
It was DJing at gigs in Brighton & London that he met Trev Collins & Tiki Stew. They started the Rockinitiz Club and which later led to the birth of popular club night Boppin the Blues. From a small venue in Camden, this grew into a much larger club running nights showcasing bands & guest DJ’s from far and wide, including Europe & USA. Boppin the Blues has had invitations from well known festivals including the Rockabilly Rave, Rhythm Riot & the Hot Rod Hayride (UK) and the Rockin’ Race (Spain).
DJ Steve Grinster has played at the Screamin’ festival in Spain for 10 years, MCing alongside DJ Willie Storm which led to the famous last night dance party ‘the GrinStorm’’! Steve has loved playing fabulous clubs & festivals over the years and this has continued into 2024 with some incredible gigs such as The Jesters Wild weekend. Steve is a passionate record collector and his ever- growing collection ranges from RnR,Rockabilly, R&B, Blues, Gospel & instrumentals from the 40’s - 60’s era.
DJ TREV COLLINS
Trev Collins a well known vinyl DJ and club promoter has been on the Rock n Roll, R&B and Rockabilly scenes since the 70s. Starting in South London, Trev has DJed in many clubs and festivals across the UK, USA and Europe:
In the UK, he has worked at Hemsby Rockabilly Rave, Rhythm Riot, Hotrod Hayride, The Shakedown festival to name a few! In Europe, he has played Screaming Festival, High Rockabilly, Rockin Race and Let’s Get Wild. In the USA, Viva Las Vegas and Denver Rockabilly weekender. He has played at many clubs including The Wessex House, The Collins Kids Record Hop (alongside Dave Mumbles), Rockinitiz and Rockin Bones London.
Good friends Trev Collins and Steve Grinster have been running Boppin the Blues for around 17 years. Can’t wait to have them reunited for a Boppin the Blues edition at the Phoenix!
