About this Event
Classes at the 1909 Culinary Academy combine a hands-on cooking experience with delicious tasting experiences.
Eggs are so versatile and are an ingredient in dishes from appetizers to dessert.
What's on our Menu?
We'll test our skills at making the perfect soft boiled jammy egg and poached eggs, both options that are perfect for breakfast.
Deviled eggs are a classic appetizer, but this staple has a number of variations to accomodate tastes and seasonal preferences. We'll test some of them out to find your favourites.
Shakshuka is an easy, healthy meal in parts of the Middle East and North Africa. It’s a simple combination of simmering tomatoes, onions, garlic, spices and gently poached eggs. It’s nourishing, filling and one recipe we guarantee you’ll make time and again.
Crème Brûlée uses egg yolks as a key ingredient to make a creamy custard that is topped with sugar and scorched (bruleed) to create a crusty topping. We'll make ours with local maple syrup!
At the end of class, we'll sit down to enjoy the dishes you've made together.
The 1909 Culinary Academy is licenced. We have a drink menu of beer, wine, and assorted cocktails for you to enjoy throughout the event.
Sometimes we have leftovers. Please bring your own reusable containers to help us reduce the use of single use plastics.
