Renowned baker and author Gesine Bullock-Prado brings readers an inspiring new cookbook, My Harvest Kitchen: 100+ Recipes to Savor Every Season, a heartfelt guide to celebrating the rhythm of the year through seasonal recipes and tales from her Vermont homestead.
In My Harvest Kitchen, Bullock-Prado offers more than just a collection of recipes—she shares her journey of transitioning from city life in Los Angeles to becoming a "half-assed homesteader" in Vermont. With humor and authenticity, the book navigates the ups and downs of gardening, raising chickens, and sourcing local ingredients. The author’s honest reflections invite readers to embrace imperfection, whether they are seasoned gardeners or casual home cooks.
The book is divided into three seasonal chapters:
- Hope: Spring’s first harvests, including ramps, asparagus, and rhubarb, inspire vibrant dishes like Zucchini Waffles and Creamy Roast Garlic Soup.
- Harvest: Summer's abundance takes center stage with recipes like Ugly Tomato Cheesy Bean Dip and Aunt Sis’ Tomato Sandwich, celebrating the joy of cooking fresh from the garden.
- Hibernate: Cozy, comforting recipes for winter, such as Butter Chicken and Sour Cherry Pie, make use of long-storing vegetables and preserved summer flavors.
Featuring over 100 recipes ranging from Cheddar and Chive Biscuits to the decadent Gateau Concorde, each dish is beautifully photographed by Raymond Prado, capturing the essence of each season and the love of local ingredients.

Gesine Bullock-Prado is a pastry chef, author, and television personality known for her approachable baking style and dedication to farm-to-table cooking.
