Bierock is host to a special tapping on German Beer Day, Thursday April 23.It only made sense to mark the occasion as a bar and restaurant with German roots.
We’re tapping Pilsner from Rhineland-Palatinate.
When doors open at 3:00 p.m., we’re pouring the Premium Pilsner from Bitburger Brewery the first time at Bierock.
According to the brewery…
"Without a doubt, pils (also called ‘pilsner’) is Germany’s favourite style of beer. Fans of this style of brewing enjoy the dry, bitter flavour and light colour that is typical of the beers it produces. The name originates from the Bohemian town of Pilsen in the Czech Republic, where it was first produced in 1842, and we’ve been brewing this style of beer to perfection here in Bitburg since 1909. We lay claim to using the term ‘Pilsener’ as an official designated beer style in Germany, way back in 1883."
And that’s exactly why we’re celebrating German Beer Day on Apr. 23, the anniversary of the Reinheitsgebot—or German purity law—that states beer is made with only three ingredients: water, malt, hops (and yeast).
The Reinheitsgebot dates all the way back to 1516.
So join us to hoist a pint and pair it with a bierock. Prost!
