(EGHPS) historian Matt Carcieri will share exciting evidence that the Founding Father George Washington spent Easter 1776 at the home of James Mitchell Varnum’s manor home (now the ) on Peirce Street, East Greenwich, RI.
This event starts at East Greenwich (EG) Town Hall at 6:00 PM. After Matt Carcierie's presentation, attendees are invited to visit the Varnum House Museum (directly behind EG Town Hall) to visit to the bedroom where Washington purportedly slept and tour the museum.
This event is FREE! Sponsored by the EGHPS (https://eghps.org/) in partnership with the Varnum House Museum. Seating in EG Town Hall is "first come, first serve" as space allows.
