About this Event
Elevate your story by putting it in its place. Go further by integrating dynamic media — images, video, audio, and custom 2D and 3D maps — into a purposeful narrative structure.
Geographic context, communicated visually and delivered at multiple scales, adds depth, clarity, and credibility to your work.
Join the ASU Library Map and Geospatial Hub for this two-hour workshop, where you’ll learn how to use ArcGIS StoryMaps to design immersive, visually compelling stories ready for publication on the web.
The strongest StoryMaps integrate custom web maps drawn from across the ArcGIS Online ecosystem. This workshop includes a brief introduction to creating both 2D and 3D maps in ArcGIS Online for seamless integration into your StoryMap projects, alongside image and video content.
Beyond the technical tools, we’ll focus on strong information architecture, intentional design decisions, and thoughtful user interaction. The goal is not simply to make something attractive, but to build digital stories that are coherent, substantive, and engaging.
Whether you’re communicating research, documenting fieldwork, presenting policy analysis, developing public-facing scholarship, strengthening your professional profile, or curating digital content, this workshop will equip you with the skills to create stories that resonate.
This event is free and open to the public. All attendees must bring their own organizational ArcGIS Online account credentials in order to participate.
ASU affiliates: please follow the instructions in the Esri Software Access at ASU guide to create your ASU ArcGIS Online account prior to the workshop.
