About this Event
*This event is open to NYU Students, Staff, and Faculty only.*
In the workshop, participants will learn using Shape Optimization in Fusion 360, an AI based design tool. Fusion 360 has a lot of great features like Generative Design, built in CAM along with design tools. For this workshop we’ll be using the Free Shape Optimization to build better designs.
This workshop will walk participants through the Fusion 360 interface and show them how to perform a simulation on a part to reduce it’s weight without compromising strength. There will be a hands on component that gives participants the practice they need to start using Shape Optimization for their own projects, from setting up simulation to 3D Printing the final designs.
Requirements: Participants must bring their laptops, have Google Chrome, and have signed up for a FREE Student Fusion 360 Account.
*This workshop is open to all current NYU student, staff, and faculty and will take place in-person at the NYU MakerSpace located in the Tandon School of Engineering on the Downtown Brooklyn campus.*
