A soulful celebration of Women’s History Month featuring the East End’s finest voices and world-class jazz kindred spirits.
About this Event

East End Jazz is proud to present "Generations of Jazz: Women in Modern Jazz," a special concert honoring Women’s History Month. This extraordinary event will take place on Sunday, March 15th, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the historic St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Bridgehampton.

This performance brings together a multi-generational ensemble of world-class vocalists and instrumentalists to celebrate the power of female voices in music. The program features a carefully curated selection of songs, each chosen by the performers for their deep personal meaning and ability to foster community connection.

"We are bringing generations of women together to share the stage and celebrate our history," says Iris Ornig, Director of East End Jazz. "Each artist brings a unique perspective, but we are united through the power of music and storytelling.”

The Lineup

The concert features an impressive roster of "kindred spirits" from the East End and the NYC jazz scene:

  • Lola Lama (Vocals): An NYU Tisch graduate and theatrical talent who leads the trio Whatever Lola Wants.
  • Natalia Rahim (Vocals): An East End native known for her soulful storytelling and deep audience connection.
  • Brandi Disterheft (Vocals/Bass): A JUNO Award-winner and protégé of Ron Carter, described by Oscar Peterson as "serious."
  • Jane Hastay (Piano): A cornerstone of the Hamptons music scene and Manhattan School of Music alumna.
  • Iris Ornig (Bass/Director): One of NYC’s most original contemporary jazz voices and composers.

"Experience the power of music and storytelling as we honor the incredible women whose voices and visions have defined the jazz tradition."
