General Movements (GMs) are the most frequently occurring spontaneous movements of the fetus and young infant. Currently we know that the quality of general movements is a powerful predictor of present and future brain dysfunction.Course contentsThe course consists of lectures and self practice sessions during which video recordings of general movements of preterm and full-term infants will be scored.
The lectures cover:
– theories on typical and atypical motor development
– typical development of GMs
– characteristics of atypical GMs
– practical issues on GM assessment
