Monthly reggae disco in North-East London. The night is named after sadly departed MC Earl Anthony Robinson, the voice behind classic deejay tunes such as "Drunken Master".For our April session we're very glad to welcome DJ Andy Smith (ex-Portishead) and 7Locks (Flashback Records) to select tunes for us for the first time. Together they are THE REGGAE LOCKSMITHS and they're here to show you a good time.
Andy Smith made his name as tour DJ for the legendary Portishead (also the name of the town where he and the rest of the band grew up), was responsible for classic mix CD series 'The Document', and has gone on to a successful and eclectic club and radio career, whether it's spinning northern soul alongside Keb Darge, performing scratch DJ hip-hop sets, or mining rare disco gems. His love for reggae is longstanding, and alongside Lorenzo '7Locks' Perera (the reggae buyer at Flashback Records), they will be providing the dancers of Walthamstow with an evening of classic JA sounds to make you move - expect ska, rocksteady, dub, roots, dancehall and all points in between.
Come and listen to some of the greatest music ever made in a beautiful old school social club.
