Gender-Affirming Surgery Access in New Brunswick (Half Day Workshop)

Chroma NB is offering a workshop open to healthcare providers on gender-affirming surgery access in New Brunswick.

Participants will:

• Familiarize themselves with gender-affirming surgeries and their coverage under NB Medicare.
• Understand the pathway to assess & refer patients for gender-affirming surgery, and barriers to accessing care.
• Identify provider resources & supports to become ready to conduct assessments and referrals for gender-affirming surgery.

The day will include an interactive three hour workshop, followed by a networking lunch with guided case discussions and Q&A with experienced gender-affirming care providers. It is offered in-person at the Saint John Regional Hospital's first floor ampitheatre (follow the signs on the day of) and also virtually.

The workshop will include a light breakfast and full lunch, a resource package, and a free parking pass for the Saint John Regional Hospital lot. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion.

This training is a project of the Community Based Resource Centre (CBRC) and is funded by Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) Canada to improve access to safe and consistent sexual and reproductive health services from coast to coast.

Info: Buffet lunch, networking, and a chance to discuss cases with experienced gender-affirming care providers. Participants joining virtually will have the same opportunity to discuss cases with a Family Physician in a separate online format.
