About this Event
There is the notion that Gen Z is very difficult to work with. They often call in sick, have no motivation, don’t take responsibility …
A co-worker recently told me about an intern who asked her:
‘Can I go home early? I want to do my laundry today.’
‘How is her laundry my problem?’ my co-worker asks, ‘I have laundry too, I do it in my free time. It would never even occur to me to ask a question like that!’.
I understand her bewilderment. I know that it's impossible to get anything done at work if the people you work with don't show enough commitment. And it wouldn't have occurred to me to ask that question either - but why is that?
What has changed and is that change good or bad? Were we more commited or just more obedient? Has the younger generation forgotten how to work or has it learned to stand up for their interests more confidently?
In our experimental discussion, we want to examine these questions together and explore from different perspectives what is happening in the world of work and what we think about that.
This invitation is for members of all generations. We may complain a little about each other, but in a loving way :)
Join our discussion!
This discussion is part of the event series “The Discussion Experiment”. It serves to test and develop new, more fruitful and fun methods for group discussions.
There will be two discussions on this topic, one in German and one in English, feel free to participate in both.
Participation is free. You don’t need to prepare anything or have a strong opinion — just bring your curiosity and about two hours of your time.
