Hosted by Melbourne Venture Club and supported by MDAP in university of melbourne.

The global technological revolution is entering a new phase,defined by technological breakthroughs, industrial implementation, and ecosystem development. Innovation and entrepreneurship are moving faster than ever. Technology depth and industry collaboration are becoming the new standard.

Against this backdrop, the 2026 Gemini Competition is now open.The 2026 Gemini Competition aims to build an innovation platform oriented toward the global market through connecting industry resources, investment institutions, and global innovation networks. The Melbourne Venture Club will collaborate with leading Asia-Pacific (APAC) venture capital institutions and innovation organizations, including:

National Innovation Center par Excellence (NICE)、Boson Ventures 、Synergy Co、Australia - China Association of Scientists and Entrepreneurs Incorporated (ACASE)、Plug and Play China、 Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and Cyberport in Hong Kong.

The competition will feature a distinguished panel of industry leaders serving as judges and providing investment resources for participating teams. The invited speakers on 18th April are:


  • Alan Cui, Managing Partner of Boson Ventures
  • Arthur Weng, Asia-Pacific Partner of Adelaide Property Fund
  • Henry Yang, CEO of ACASE
  • Li Xiaohua, Senior Partner, Nobel Sustainability Development Foundation; Trade Commissioner of Vanuatu in Chengdu
  • Li Shilin, Investment Partner of Venture Plus
  • Tick Jiang, Founder of NUVC
  • Sam Donegan, Foudner of MLAI
  • Dr Feng Liu, machine learning researcher
  • Dr Yifei Wang, Founder of Aibuild


Following the panel session, the competition will feature a dynamic pitch session, showcasing a select group of innovative startups across four key sectors: new energy, consumer market, Deep tech, and the digital economy. These rising entrepreneurs will present their groundbreaking ideas to the judging panel and audience, demonstrating the depth of innovation emerging from the region.


Throughout the event, the organisers will provide a selection of premium food and beverages, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for all attendees. This will offer a valuable opportunity for guests, investors, industry leaders, and participants to connect, exchange ideas, and forge meaningful collaborations in a vibrant networking session.
