About this Event
The Wayne County Gem and Mineral Club's GemFest features a variety of family friendly activities like soapstone carving, a sluice with plenty of treasures to discover, a scavenger hunt, rock painting, and Jerry the Geologist with his dinosaur.
For those looking to learn about the lapidary (gem & mineral shaping and polishing for jewelry or decorative purposes) arts, we'll have wire wrapping tutorials and demonstrations as well as information on how to get started in the hobby!
Many vendors will be on hand as well selling gems, crystals, minerals for crafting and collecting, fossil specimens, beads, jewelry, and an assortment of shiny sparkling treasures!
Every ticket comes with a free entry into the hourly door prize drawings, and there are also rock grab bags to buy as well as a variety of exhibits put together by club members to see.
Note: You can also purchase your admission at the door for $5 with no Eventbrite platform fees, but it is cash-only (although there's an ATM in the lobby.)
