Have you ever wondered what Geli-Plate printing is?Come along and join Helen from The Butterfly Effect Studio to discover this exciting technique using what looks like a slab of jelly and some inks, leaves, lace, wooden stamps, feathers, Tyvek paper etc.
During this 2.5 hrs workshop you will learn how to create an effective pattern or composition using a wide range of objects and textures and use these to create unique prints which can be used as greeting cards, gift tags, handmade journals or be framed.
You will be shown how to select and apply colored inks using a brayer and transfer these to make your prints.
This workshop is suitable for beginners.
During this session students can expect to make at least 10 A6 prints .
Once you know how to do Geli-plate printing you’ll want to continue experimenting with this versatile technique at home and you will be given information about what equipment and materials you might need to do more printing at home and how to make your own Geli-plate to whatever size or shape you require.
There are examples available to get you started so that you can identify step-by-step how to create certain print but you might also wish to bring your sketch book or own photographs from which to work.
With over 25 years teaching experience you can be sure that you will be guided and inspired by Helen in order to realize your true creative potential.
