Thursday, March 26, 7:30p.m., Georgia College & State University’s Wind Symphony presents “We Danced Anyway: An Evening of Movement, Meaning, and Music” in Russell Auditorium. Under the direction of Dr. Zandra Bell-McRoy, the Wind Symphony will present a dynamic program centered on the idea of dance — not only as physical movement, but as emotional, cultural, and spiritual expression. The concert traces a journey through gritty rhythmic energy, reflective lyricism, and triumphant celebration, drawing on musical traditions that span cultures and generations. We Danced Anyway is more than a concert title — it is a statement. It reflects the enduring human instinct to rise, to express, and to find joy even in uncertain times. It is a story told in sound, and it belongs to all of us. This event will also be live streamed on facebook.com/GCMusicDepartment. A $5 donation is encouraged. Online donations can be made at give.gcsu.edu/g/department-of-music/. All proceeds benefit music scholarships or the GCSU Department of Music through GCSU Foundation, Inc.
