It’s that time of year again — our Annual General Meeting is coming up!
This is your chance to get involved, have your say, and help shape the future of the Gold Coast Sportfishing Club.
We’re looking for fresh faces to join our committee — people who love fishing, community, and teamwork. Whether you’ve been around for years or are new to the club, we’d love your input, energy, and ideas.
Committee & Support Roles Available
Here’s a snapshot of the positions open for nomination this year:
Executive Roles
President – Leads the club, chairs meetings, and sets the direction for the year ahead
Vice President – Supports the President and assists across all club operations
Secretary – Manages correspondence, meeting notes, and communication
Treasurer – Handles finances, reporting, and budgeting
General Committee Roles
General Committee Member (Minimum 2, Maximum 7) – Helps across events and club nights
Key Support Roles
Sponsorship Officer – Works with our sponsors, manages relationships, coordinates event activations, and supports sponsor visibility at tournaments and club nights
Games Master (Inshore & Offshore) – Oversees competitions, scoring, and rules for club events; ensures fair play and fun for all anglers throughout the year
Membership Officer – Welcomes new members, manages renewals, and helps grow and engage our club community
Monthly Commitment
Committee members meet once a month (usually the first Thursday) to plan events, discuss ideas, and keep the club running smoothly.
There are also opportunities to lend a hand at club nights (the second Thursday of each month), comps, and social events throughout the year.
What You’ll Need
Must be a current financial member of the club
A positive, proactive attitude
Willingness to contribute ideas and support events
Passion for fishing and community spirit
