About this Event
Artificial intelligence poses profound moral and ethical questions about the role and worth of humans at work, and how we evolve organisations in the future. Nora Colton and Jean Gomes showcase interviews with leading voices to explore the leadership challenges facing managers in an automating world.
The second event in the UCL GBSH Leadership Series is a fireside chat with Jean Gomes and Nora Colton featuring virtual expert voices across the world of leadership, including:
Professor Shannon Vallor: Author of The AI Mirror - How to Reclaim Our Humanity in an Age of Machine Thinking, Shannon Vallor is the Baillie Gifford Professor in the Ethics of Data and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh. Her work explores how new technologies reshape human moral and intellectual character and includes advising government and industry on the ethical design and use of AI.
Professor Neil Lawrence: Author of The Atomic Human – Understanding Ourselves in the Age of AI - Neil Lawrence is the DeepMind Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge and a Visiting Professor at the University of Sheffield. For three years (2016 – 2019) Neil was Director of Machine Learning at Amazon.
Susie Alegre: Author of Freedom to Think, and Human Rights, Robot Wrongs - Being Human in the Age of AI, Susie Alegre is an international human rights lawyer with expertise in technology and AI, working on some of the most challenging legal and political issues of our time. She is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance and Innovation (CIGI), and argues that only by recasting our human rights for the digital age can we safeguard our future.
Professor Jean Gomes and Professor Nora Colton will draw on our thinkers’ insights and ideas to explore the moral leadership agenda necessary to adapt to the new realities of a world where machines can think.
