As is tradition, we will host an open 7toSmoke battle at the afterparty. Some of the best beatboxers in the world will be in attendance, so this is sure to be one hell of an event!
After the 7toSmoke battle, we have a lineup of internationally acclaimed DJ's to bring this amazing festival weekend to a close, with a mixture of Drum & Bass, Dubstep, and Hip-Hop - TBA.
If you would like to participate in the 7toSmoke battle, pre-eliminations will be announced in the days leading up to the event. 100 of the best pre-elims will be selected to do an official elimination round at the afterparty venue later that night.
Make sure you don't miss this opportunity to battle against some of the best beatboxers in the world, and earn the title of 7toSmoke champion (previous winners include Zekka, Colaps, Alexinho, and Alem).
How does the 7toSmoke battle work?
Eight contestants stand on stage in a line, with the highest ranked elimination being the "leader," going down the ranked list from there (ranking is determined through the eliminations). Each contestant in the line challenges the leader, with the leader always going second (replying). After a 1min 30second round each, the judges then decide who wins that round. The loser goes to the back of the line, and the winner stays on as the leader and gains one point. This continues through the participants, until one of them has accumulated 7 points, and is crowned the 7toSmoke champion. This means that the battles could last anywhere from 7 rounds to 49 rounds, and anything in between.
Rules:
- Pre-eliminations will take place at the hostel, where you must convince the judges of your skills.
- 1 minute elimination time on stage (100, selected from pre-elims).
- 1 minute 30 seconds battle round time each (8, selected from eliminations).
- Highest ranked elimination starts as leader.
- First contestant to win 7 points is crowned 7toSmoke Champion.
- No overly aggressive or offensive behaviour will be tolerated.
- If you are late or miss your elimination, you will be immediately disqualified.
Doors open 18:00, live eliminations start @ 19:00, doors close LATE!
