Gazelle — Minneapolis ScreeningWe are very happy to invite you to a special one-night screening of Gazelle in Minneapolis.
Gazelle is a New York–set feature film that follows Yakup, a Turkish music teacher navigating the fragile path of asylum while trying to reunite with his family. When he learns that the legal process may take years, he is forced into an impossible choice: wait, or risk everything.
But the film moves beyond that surface. It looks at what waiting does to a person, how time begins to blur, how relationships shift, and how the struggle slowly turns inward. At its core, Gazelle is a deeply human story of exile, identity, and the quiet cost of starting over.
The film is rooted in lived experience and has already connected strongly with audiences at international festivals. It premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival, where it received the Vanguard Audience Award, and later screened at the Chicago International Film Festival and Dances With Films New York, where it earned the Industry Choice Award.
Nadir Sarıbacak, known for his work in internationally recognized films including Winter Sleep (Palme d’Or, Cannes) and Ivy (Sundance), brings a deeply personal perspective to the film.
