About this Event
Tickets are £25pp (payable on the night ) and include an arrival drink of either a 175ml glass of wine, pint of beer or 16oz soft drink + "Yorkshire Tapas" grazing share boards.
Under some of the darkest skies in England, immerse yourself in the wonders of the cosmos with a captivating laser-guided tour of the constellations, planets, and deep-sky objects. With the aid of a large-aperture telescope, you’ll have the opportunity to observe breathtaking sights such as planets, distant galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters. Should the weather prove inclement, fear not—the event will move indoors, where we will recreate the night sky using a projector and screen, ensuring the magic of the stars is never far away.
After this we will have a short comfort break where we will serve our "Yorkshire Tapas" grazing share boards for you to enjoy during the second part of the evening, and allow you time to purchase replenishments from the bar.
(Please advise of any dietary requirements in advance)
The evening will then feature an engaging and informal talk on the fascinating search for exoplanets. Discover the innovative techniques astronomers use to detect these distant worlds, from analysing stellar wobbles to studying faint dips in starlight. Whether you're a seasoned astronomer or new to stargazing, this event offers a perfect blend of hands-on exploration and scientific discovery, all set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales' exceptional dark skies. Don’t miss this chance to be inspired by the universe’s secrets at this flagship festival event!
