Gays Reading Books on the Train (to Portland!)

Join us on Saturday, November 8 for a one-day train trip to Portland to visit Powell's Books!

We're catching the early morning train, spending the day exploring Powell's and downtown Portland, gathering for a group dinner, and catching the evening train home to Seattle.

Train Schedule Information
FROM: Seattle, WA - King Street Station (SEA)
TO: Portland, OR - Union Station (PDX)
Depart: November 8 at 8:55 am (505 Amtrak Cascades)
Return:November 8 at 7:25 pm (508 Amtrak Cascades)

SCHEDULE:

8:00 am: Arrive at King Street Station (303 S. Jackson St) and board the train

8:55 am: Train departs Seattle

12:20 pm: Train arrives in Portland

12:20 - 4:30 pm: Browse Powell's, explore downtown, etc

4:30-6:30 pm: Group dinner at Pine Street Market food hall (126 SW 2nd Ave)

6:30-7:00 pm: Walk or travel back to train station, board train by 7:15 pm.

7:25 pm: Train departs Portland

10:50 pm: Train arrives in Seattle

You're welcome to join us for all or part of the trip: Drive to Portland instead of taking the train, or catch an earlier/later train–choose your own adventure!

We recommend bringing your own train snacks! (The food for sale on the train tends to be overpriced and not fantastic)

We are traveling together as a group, but club members are responsible as individuals for their own train tickets, transportation to and from the train stations, and ultimately for their own experience on this trip. Have fun! Buy lots of books!
