We will usher in the New Year with song at City Vineyard in a matinee on Jan. 4 – but not the songs you’ll be hearing plenty of already while you’re shopping!‘WinterFolk’ features music by folk and folk-rock legends like Simon & Garfunkel, the Mamas and the Papas, Joni Mitchell, Tom Rush, Gordon Lightfoot and many others, as well as contemporary songwriters, plus traditional and original songs.
Winter can be warm and cozy by the fire, or cold and lonely, a hibernation or an adventure, and the songs we’ll be singing will reflect all those things.
A decided departure from the usual holiday fare served up by radio stations and retail stores, the songs will nonetheless be very recognizable for people who grew up listening to the radio in the ‘60s – or turned on to it by listening to their parents’ record or CD collections.
