About this Event
Please note that there is a limit of two tickets per person. This measure is in place to promote a more equitable ticket purchasing expereince for everyone. General Admission Tickets will be available for non-members on Friday, March 6.
Due to high demand, we have added additional sessions on March 27th!
Gather at the Gallery is a weekly event presented specifically for the 55+ community. Each week there will be opportunities to express your own creativity through a variety of hands on workshops, meet artists and hear their stories, or preview new exhibitions. Gather at the Gallery is generously sponsored by the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility of the Government of Ontario.
The Workshop:
Due to equipment and capacity limitations, there will be a morning session in addition to the regular afternoon session. Please note which session you have signed up for, as we will not be able to accomodate additional people in the afternoon.
You will be making your very own stained glass suncatchers using the Tiffany/copper foil cosntruction method. In this workshop you will select your glass, foil, solder, attach jump rings, and clean your suncatcher.
You will be working with pre-cut and pre-ground glass hexagons.
Choose 7 pieces to make a honeycomb cluster, a flower, or your own design.
Our Artist in Residence, Meysa, will demonstrate how to join your pieces together using copper foil and solder.
