On September 23rd, we are bringing back Gary The Showman! Gary is a live performer here in San Antonio TX who is dedicated to bringing back vintage sounds from the early 1930s-50s as well as performing modern swing hits. His stage presence is lively and his performance is as energetic as the music he performs. While he is mostly known for his Elvis Presley persona, he also performs swing tunes from well known artists such as Bill Hailey, Frank Sinatra, Royal Crown Revue & many more!

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Thomas Olvera & Anna Combs
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: This 6-count dance is where it all starts! This class is always available to you every Monday Night. East Coast 1 is perfect if you are new to swing dancing and want to begin your dance journey. This class will cover the main fundamentals to swing dancing such as basic posture, pulsing, weight transferring & core engagement.
Ｂａｌｂｏａ １
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Lara Benavides & Ed Willars
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Although different to East Coast swing, this course is still a beginner course to another variation of swing dance. As a branch of Swing it bears certain similarities to the Lindy Hop and Charleston, however its close connection between partners, and small defined footwork distinguishes this dance as the most elegant and sophisticated of the partnered Swing dances.

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Gilbert Carrizales & Leslie Kortz
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Lindy Hop 3 is the conclusion to the summer Lindy Hop series. Please be advised that this is one of our most advanced courses. This course will NOT cover Lindy basics such as footwork, connection & posture. This course will be covering advanced Lindy variations, footwork substitutions, merging of 6 & 8 count steps, musicality, styling and call & response.
You might be asking yourself "How do I know if I am ready for this course?".
Our answer: Take this class If you are absolutely confident in basic triple steps, basic connection & posture to a point where you no longer have to concentrate on fundamentals while dancing. Take this course if you find yourself applying these basics while coming up with your own variations & style. Take this course if you feel stagnant in your own creativity or knowledge of Lindy Hop.
Do NOT take this course if you find yourself struggling with basic triple steps. Do NOT take this course if you struggle with intermediate footwork variations taught in Lindy Hop 2. Do NOT take this course if you struggle with swing out variations & other 8 count moves I.E. turns, spins, pass-overs. Do NOT take this course if you spend more time concentrating on basic or intermediate Lindy moves/variations & less to no time concentrating on creativity.
NOTE: While these classes are available to you each week, please know that it takes a great deal of personal commitment to improve on your dancing. This may include self practice, group practices or private lessons with any of our instructors. Growth requires pushing your limits & testing your potential. Dance is no exception to this rule. Each of our instructors began at the exact same place as you did!

The San Antonio Fire Fighter's Banquet Hall is located on the access road of West I-10 right next to the ramp that leads down from Medical Drive on the right side.
🚗 PARKING:
The SAFFBH parking can fit up to 100 vehicles. The parking lot is directly outside of the building on the left side. There is also additional parking on the right side.

We have been given permission from the SA Firefighters Association to allow our guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages. Water bottles & sodas will remain for sale.
NOTE: We have the right to deny entry or to escort guests out of the premises if we feel they are above the legal intoxication limit, are disturbing the peace, or are attempting to serve alcohol to minors. Keep in mind that this is still an all-ages event and while we are allowing adults to bring their own beverages we must remind everyone to be responsible and follow the law.
