Together We Are Beautiful is a night dreamed up by Melbourne surreal artists and performers Garrett and Will Huxley - a creative duo and romantic partnership who have spent years making strange, beautiful, joyful things together.
Garrett, a proud First Nations man of Yorta Yorta and Gumbaynggirr heritage, and his partner Will, bring a deeply felt vision to everything they create: art that is weird, warm, and full of heart.
This night is their love letter to queer performance art, community, and the simple but radical act of getting together and having a really, really good time.
Expect surreal artworks and playful video art setting the scene, special performance guests who will stop you mid-dance-move with something spectacular, and the Huxleys themselves in full outrageous costume glory. The energy will be big, the dancing will be better, and the room will be full of the kind of people who know how to show up for a night like this.
There's no dress code - come exactly as you are. But if you feel like going a little wild with what you wear, we will absolutely appreciate it.
Together We Are Beautiful is a celebration of queer creativity, First Nations artistry, and the gorgeous mess of being human together. It's for the dancers and the wallflowers, the performers and the spectators, the old friends and the strangers who'll feel like friends by midnight. It's for anyone who needs a reminder that joy is something we make with other people - and that when we're all in the same room, moving to the same music, something genuinely magical happens.
Come for the spectacle. Stay for the dancing. Leave with new friends and sore feet. This is a night built on love - and it's going to be beautiful.
