Join your neighbors for a fun W**d wrangle to slow the spread of invasive plants in the park! Each month will focus on a specific plant in a specific area. In March, we'll start with invasive honeysuckles in the Northwest corner across Pagoda Drive from the Aquatic Center.
For the first 20-30 minutes I'll explain how to identify and effectively remove the featured plant, and cover basic safety info.
The W**d Wrangle will NOT be cancelled due to rain if the temperature is above 40 degrees. We will cancel in the case of thunderstorm.
Who: Anyone who cares about ecosystem preservation in the park! or people who want to learn more about invasive plant species.
What: Pulling, digging up, or cutting plants and shrubs.
When: 7:30 am, the third Saturday of the month, March through November.
Where: Garfield Park -- specific place will vary depending on which section of the park we're working in.
Why: to slow the spread of invasive plants!
