🌱 About The Learning Garden
Established in 2001 in Venice, California, The Learning Garden is a thriving community hub dedicated to Gardening, Sustainable Living, and the Healing Arts for West Los Angeles. The garden serves as a living classroom where students, volunteers, and visitors come together to explore ecological balance, herbal medicine, and the wisdom of growing one’s own food and medicine. From composting to cultural plant traditions, The Learning Garden cultivates both the soil and the soul — teaching that sustainability begins right where you plant your hands.
🌿 Ingrid Schneider
Ingrid Schneider holds a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and brings a unique blend of herbal wisdom and regenerative practice to her work. She works with volunteers at The Huntington Botanical Gardens, guiding their engagement with living plant collections, including the Chinese Medicinal Garden established in 2023. Ingrid also mentors volunteers at Japanese Heritage Shoya House, where she helps integrate regenerative agriculture principles drawn from traditional Eastern ecological practices.
A volunteer at The Learning Garden since 2004, Ingrid’s work bridges ancient plant medicine and modern sustainability — reminding us that healing the earth and healing ourselves are deeply connected.
