About this Event
πΏ What if the Muses have always been us?
Garden of the 9 Muses is a two-day immersive solo exhibition by Afrocentric Keyy, reimagining classical mythology through the lens of African, Caribbean, and Black American history.
Through oil paintings on reclaimed wood, the Nine Muses are transformed into living Black archetypes β embodiments of storytelling, rhythm, grief, joy, spirituality, and imagination.
This exhibition explores how memory has been preserved across the diaspora β through voice, music, movement, and lived experience β long before it was written.
This garden is not botanical β it is ancestral.
Each figure stands as a reflection of survival and self-awareness, inviting viewers to not only witness the work, but to see themselves within it. Subtle sculptural elements within each piece, including the shaping of hair, act as quiet extensions of each Museβs energy β connecting lineage, identity, and cultural remembrance.
β¨ This is not just an art show β itβs an experience.
