Instructors: Heather and CrystleSpend your Sunday morning in the studio hand-building your very own garden mushroom house! This project is made of two separate pieces- a pinch pot and a tower base so it can be a stand-alone decorative piece, or can serve as a luminary.
Your piece will begin as a pre-rolled slab of clay and you'll be guided through cutting it into the perfect shape with little details like windows and a door. You'll be able to use excess clay to shape additional pieces and details like bricks or trim. You'll learn the basic techniques of handbuilding including texture, slipping and scoring, and more! This project is designed to be a one-day project so after building you'll move right into painting with our large selecting of Mayco Stroke and Coat glazes. We'll even be opening some Jungle Gem glazes to really make the domes dynamic! Once completed, your piece will have plenty of time to dry out before being fired in the kiln. You'll be notified as soon as they're ready for pick up.
In addition to instruction, all needed tools, materials and firing are included in this workshop.
Ages 16+, pre-registration required.
Please wear clothes you’re okay getting messy and consider wearing minimal jewelry (especially rings and bracelets).
